June 5
Just returned from an afternoon walk and the locust area still looked like snow. There are now green orchis- a plant I thought at one time was endangered. It has small green flowers. Finally looked up a plant that was in bloom that looked like partridge berry except leaves were softer. It had four striped petals on a stalk and opposite leaves. It's a common speedwell. When I returned home I saw something black and white climbing a tree. It hid behind the black birch and when I cam to get a closer look it was gone.
